POLYMER MODIFIED BITUMINOUS THICK COATINGS - EN 15814

For waterproofing products of buildings in below ground structures, the systems of assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) are determined according to the table below in accordance with the definitions given in the EN 15814 standard.

** Products/materials not covered by footnote (*)
*** Products/materials that do not require to be tested for reaction to fire (e.g. products/ materials of Class A1 according to Commission Decision 96/603/EC, as amended).

a: Because all PMBC have requirements for waterproofing of buildings in below ground structures, all products covered by this standard come under attestation system 3. In case of additional requirements on reaction to fire for this characteristic and the related parameters, depending on the classes attestation of systems of assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) 1, 3 or 4 shall additional applied.

When the footnote is examined in the table above where the AVCP systems are determined; It turns out that the systems of assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of polymer modified bituminous thick coatings for waterproofing materials is generally 3. For A1-E class waterproofing sheets, reaction to fire class tests must be carried out by notified bodies.

If the reaction to fire class is A1, A2, B and C with the regulations made in the process, these products are evaluated as system 1; AVCP systems is handled within the scope of system 3. The products obtained as A1, A2, B and C class without any regulation or as D or E class with the arrangements made in the process are handled as system 3 within the scope of the assessment and verification of the performance constancy.

On the other hand, no fire test is required for class F products and the AVCP system is evaluated as 4.

Tasks

Content of the task

Tasks for the manufacturer

Determination of the product-type on the basis of type testing (including sampling), type calculation, tabulated values or descriptive documentation of the product

Essential characteristics of Table ZA.1 relevant fort he intended use, which are declared, except reaction to fire and watertightness

Factory product control (FPC)

Parameters related to essential characteristics of ZA.1 relevant for the intended use which are declared

Further testing of samples taken at factory according to prescribed test plan

Essential characteristics of Table ZA.1 relevant fort he intended use, which are declared

Tasks for a notified testing laboratory

Determination of the product-type testing

Watertightness

Tasks for the notified certification body

Determination of the product-type on the basis of type testing (including sampling), type calculation, tabulated values or descriptive documentation of the product

Rection to fire classes (A1, A2, B, C)*

Initial Inspection of manufacturing plant and of FPC

Parameters related to essential characteristics of Table ZA.1, relevant for the intended use, which are declared, namely reaction to fire.
Documentation of the FPC

Continuous surveillance, assessment and evaluation of FPC

Parameters related to essential characteristics of Table ZA.1, relevant for the intended use, which are declared, namely reaction to fire.
Documentation of the FPC

Duties within the scope of system 1 for EN 15814

For product type determination (PTD) tests, the activities of the notified test laboratory for these products included in system 1 are limited to the verification of the waterproofing property. For such products, reaction to fire tests must be carried out by an approved test laboratory under the responsibility of the certification body. The producer is responsible for the application of tests for other features given in the ZA.1 table.

The duties of the producers and notified bodies in the EN 15814 standard for products with reaction to fire class D or E and therefore evaluated as system 3 are determined by the table given below.

LIQUID-APPLIED WATER IMPERMEABLE PRODUCTS FOR USE BENEATH TILE ADHESIVES - EN 14891

The systems of assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) to be applied for all polymer-reinforced cement, dispersion and reaction resin-based sliding waterproofing materials used beneath tile adhesives are determined according to the table below in accordance with the definitions given in the EN 14891 standard.
